Not what I expected, in a bad way

Pros: Robin Williams

Cons: The plot

The Bottom Line: This is a date movie, if you don't really see the relationship going anywhere.

This is pretty bad, not bad enough to make this a bad movie however. From the commercials it would seem this movie would follow the time line of a comedian running for president (beginning)- comedian's wild antics AS president (middle)- comedian realizing a moral truth when facing an important issue and growing wiser (end). This is not at all the time line I got and in a way, I felt like I was lied to. I am sick and weary of these (movies about) politicians lying to the American public!

I won't spoil a moment of the movie nor even give you a glimpse at the actual time line. The only thing I can really say without ruining anything about the movie's plot is this, the actual story is much more unrealistic than what I expect and much LESS entertaining. Luckily for us the viewers, Robin Williams is the only comedian who is better in drama than in comedy. With someone that talented, this movie is actually watch-able.

Did I mention this movie had a love story!? That's right, a beautiful damsel in distress for Robin Williams to save, tell her everything will be alright, and hold her head on his hairy, ape-like chest. When I say she was in distress, I MEAN IT. Through out the whole movie, this poor woman was drugged, beaten, and even ran over with a car while she was in a phone booth, Matrix style.
